When the BC Lions reached out to Brand Ink to help them create a truly one-of-a-kind experience for their 2022 fan appreciation night, we were more than happy to help.
The BC Lions are a professional football team in the Canadian Football League (CFL) and based out of Vancouver, British Columbia. They play their home games at BC Place, a multi-purpose stadium completed in 1983. The Lions have won the league championship an impressive six times, with their most recent title having been won in the 2011 season.
On October 15th, 2022, the Lions took on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for their final regular season home game of the year. As a thank you to their fans, the Lions organization wanted to treat all attendees to a never-before-seen light show during halftime, and that’s exactly what we helped them deliver.
As part of their #OrangeAfterDark event, Brand Ink produced and shipped 10,000 custom cards, which were given to fans upon their entry to BC Place stadium. The front of the cards contained a 1” x 1.5” orange smartphone light tab, as well as instructions on how and when to use it.
The back of the cards contained a QR code, which—when scanned—would take fans to a landing page where they could purchase their 2023 season tickets.
During half-time of the game, fans were asked to remain in their seats, follow the instructions on their card, and apply the light tab film to their mobile devices. When prompted, the fans all switched on their smartphone flashlights and truly made BC Place #OrangeAfterDark.
